"Education is the only passport to the future."-Malcolm X.
On a personal note, I cannot remember all the foreign scholarship opportunities I have published either on my blogs or on my Facebook updates till this moment.
Why must I save all the scholarships in my brain?
Nobody is paying me one dollar for this 'humanitarian' effort. My mission is just to encourage others(mostly young Nigerians) to aspire to study abroad even if they are from poor family backgrounds. Nothing is impossible.
I came to England 'free of charge' without paying one naira to anybody. I was sponsored by Commonwealth Secretariat in London. The organization paid for my British visa and Virgin Atlantic flight ticket. The rest is now history. That was the turning point in my life....a supersonic breakthrough.
On a lighter note, Oyinbo people won't sponsor 'empty-brains' from third-world countries to come to their country for further education. That's the bitter truth.
One young Nigerian boy that I mentored is currently attending one top University in Canada on scholarship. He is not the only young Nigerian youth enjoying foreign scholarships.
Don't let me blow my trumpet for now.
Each time, Facebook friends ask me about the latest scholarships, I wonder if they don't read my blogs and Facebook updates or maybe they are ready to pay for my services or probably they are just too lazy to ask Google.
Nigerian youths, I advise you to travel to either Europe or America in a clean way, not via Libyan routes. You need to apply for a Nigerian passport with correct details.
Don't ever join criminal gangs in foreign countries.
Most foreign schools would always ask for either IELTS or TOEFL(Ask Google for details), start your preparation now and don't wait for miracles without hard work.
All the privileged children of rich Nigerians attending foreign schools are not with two heads. You need to have a strong determination to pull down barriers of life or you continue to lament for the rest of your life. That's my philosophy.
This life is a battlefield if you're not from a rich background, you need to struggle to achieve many things. That's the irony of life. Nobody is ready to 'spoon-feed' you with valuable information. You need to stand up and plan your life now. Failure is an orphan and success attracts many people.
If you're a graduate of any course looking for employment, feel free to accept any job as a stepping stone.
Let me tell you the true-life story of my good friend( a qualified medical doctor from the University of Lagos/LUTH Nigeria).
When he came to the United Kingdom about 10 years ago, he accepted to work as a security officer and care worker, just to save enough money to register for 'Adaptation course' in order to officially work in London as a medical doctor. He also used some of the money to 'settle' his immigration matter. That's a sacrifice.
Right now, this guy is 'swimming' in 'money as I am typing this message. No pain, no gain. Don't ever give to achieve your goals in life.
My friend did not say..."I reject the work of a security officer in London as a qualified medical doctor from Nigeria...over my dead body!" He swallowed his pride, just to achieve his dreams in life. The rest is now history. Let's learn from this guy. As I recently wrote on social media, living in a foreign country (as African immigrants!) is not so cheap, not a bed of roses.
